How do we distinguish spiral steel pipes?

　　The steel pipe of spiral welded pipe is divided into seamless steel pipe and welded pipe, and the welded pipe is divided into straight seam steel pipe and spiral steel pipe. Longitudinal welded pipe is divided into ERW (high frequency resistance welding) and LSAW (longitudinal submerged arc welding).

　　Spiral welding process is also the difference between submerged arc welding (SSAW) and LSAW. The difference between ERW and ERW is the difference between welding process. Submerged arc welding (SAW) adds media (welding wire and flux), ERW is unnecessary, and ERW is melted by medium frequency heating.

　　Steel pipes can be divided into seamless steel pipes and welded steel pipes according to production methods. Seamless steel pipe can be divided into hot-rolled seamless steel pipe, cold drawn pipe, precision steel pipe, hot expansion pipe, cold spinning pipe, etc. Seamless steel pipe is made of high-quality carbon steel or alloy steel, including hot rolling and cold rolling.

　　The production process is simple, the production efficiency is high, the cost is low, and the development speed is fast. The strength of spiral welded pipe is generally higher than that of longitudinal welded pipe. It can produce large diameter narrow billet welded pipe, and also produce welded pipe with different diameters.

　　However, compared with long straight seam pipe, the welding length increases by 30~100% and the production speed is low. Therefore, straight seam welding is mostly adopted for small-diameter welded pipe, and spiral welding is adopted for large-diameter welded pipe.
